Be careful what you publish -advice from a professional

Have you ever looked at a comment or tweet just before you post it and thought twice about what you wanted to say? Did you ever stop to think if anything you say, can and will be held against you on social media (and a court of law)?
In the past few years (and especially months) we have seen how something said on social media platforms can come back to haunt you, or change your life in some way. Most of us probably sit in our rooms later and think back and wish we had someone who would have warned us, told us the pros and cons of what and how we say certain things online.
Well wish no more! Our social media prayer has been answered. On 25 and 26 January 2016, Emma Sadleir, a social media law expert, and South African author, will be gracing the Vaal Triangle Campus of the North-West University (NWU Vaal) with a presentation on: “The Retweets and Likes of Life: Do’s and Don’ts of Social Media”.
The presentation forms part of the First Year Registration and Orientation Programme 2016, whereby first years not only have a chance to explore all the Campus has to offer, but also equips them with life skills for their future after they graduate.
