The Campus Clinic of the Vaal Triangle Campus of the North-West University (NWU Vaal) has been quite busy since the start of the new academic year.  The clinic offers professional and confidential health care services to the students, staff and contractors. In short: an essential service to a community that is dependent on good health to achieve in the classroom or to deliver those services that is important to the enhancement of the quality of the learning experience.

The clinic is a unit within the Directorate Student Counselling and Development and offers basic health care, HIV/Aids testing and counselling services, as well as events to promote general good health and lifestyle practices.  Other services includes:  Emergency care, smaller surgical procedures and counselling.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays there is a medical doctor available on referral and on Tuesday mornings members of the campus community can see a local optometrist – at a reduced rate.

A very full calendar has already been drafted for the coming year, by which the clinic will aim to put basic health and healthy living on the social agenda.  Students and staff of the Vaal Triangle campus are invited to make use of these opportunities:
