The Honors Labour Relation students of the North-West University Vaal Triangle Campus (NWU Vaal), have joined together with the Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark branches of the SPCA to not only give people a chance to show their love for their own pets, but to make a difference to the pets who are currently without homes.
The SPCA is running a competition until 11 May where they ask the community to send a picture of you with your pet, and a short brief on why you love your pet so much! The pictures will be posted on their Facebook Page (SPCA Vereeniging/Vanderbijlpark) where everyone will have a chance to Like it! The picture with the most Likes will win a prize.
Now, to enter the competition, the SPCA is asking for donations such a blankets and dog/cat food, which can be dropped off at either the Vereeniging or Vanderbijlpark branches. Monetary donations are also more than welcome. (With their banking details on the poster). Even after the competition, you are more than welcome to send any donations to a branch (as with winter coming, the colder temperatures can be rough for animals).
For more information, on how you can donate from Campus, you can contact Simphiwe Khumalo on firstname.lastname@example.org. Or if you want to contact the SPCA for more information on the competition or donations, you can send a message to email@example.com.
*The SPCA was started around 125 years ago, with over 90 branches around South Africa. Their mission is to prevent animal cruelty by way of education, law enforcement and pro-active and reactive activities. The SPCA is a registered Public Beneficiary Organisation, with all donations to the Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark SPCA being tax deductible.
