The North-West University Vaal Triangle Campus Football Club (NWU Vaal Football Club) just couldn’t fight back against the Kaizer Chiefs development team on Friday, 19 August 2016. The Kaizer Chiefs won 3-1 during a friendly match at the North-West University Vaal (NWU Vaal) sports grounds.
The first half of the match saw both teams attacking and trying to keep possession of the ball, with many attempted goals, which became a nightmare for both goalkeepers. Kaizer Chiefs began their winning streak by scoring 1 goal in the first few minutes of the game; putting pressure on the NWU Vaal Football Club to retaliate. During the match, it seemed as though the Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper lost concentration, which gave our team an advantage to score a goal during the first half.
A few substitutions were made by both teams respectively during the second half, with a penalty being given to Kaizer Chiefs which put them in the lead at 2-1. The visitors managed to score the third goal, which saw Kaizer Chiefs leave victorious with a 3-1 win at the end of the game.
According to the Kaizer Chiefs Development Head Coach, Mr Arthur Zwane, “The intention of the friendly matches that have been taking place lately is to prepare for the MultiChoice Diski Challenge (MDC) league, while also trying to spot new talent around the country”.
We wish both the Kaizer Chiefs and the NWU Vaal Football Club luck in all their next matches, and know that our team will be ready for the next one!
