This week saw the start of classes again after the nail-biting Semester Test period. While Monday was a back-to-business sort of day, the rest of the week sees activity (and not just in the classroom!).
On Tuesday, 6 September 2016, the Campus held witness to the Inauguration of the new Student Representative Council (SRC) as well as each respective Residences House Committee. A BIG Good Luck to all the newly inaugurated leaders, and we hope to hear and see only good things form you during your time in office!
But that’s not all folks!
Wednesday sees the Campus Clinic, as well as Student Counselling and Development (SCD) make staff and students aware of themselves. How, you may ask? Well, by having two events that will bring to light how our bodies work, and how to look after them (physically and emotionally).
The Campus Clinic will be hosting their Wellness Day from 09:00 at the Parking Lot of Building 12. So make sure to pop by, check your blood pressure (which as a student is probably high on a natural basis), have your pearly whites checked out, and learn to how live healthier lives (that’s right, say goodbye to noodles!)
SCD will also be Breaking the Silence at their annual Silent Protest. This year the theme is ‘The March Against Intimate Partner Violence’, and have asked students to be creative by attending the event with a little something extra… Using make-up, banners, what ever your creative brain can come up with; they ask students to be creative in showing their understanding of abuse. This event will be happening from 12:00 – 15:00 at Building 12 as well, so no need to run around on Campus from one event to the other!
But the fun doesn’t stop there! On Friday, the Library is hosting their annual Read-a-thon! A chance for you and your friends to team up, enjoy a good book and movie, and maybe even win a prize!
All in all… You can’t say that there isn’t anything interesting happening on Campus this week!
